The Al-Jami 'translation translates and discusses the complete hadith and manners.

And among its contents discuss about hasad which means to feel displeased with the favors that Allah has given to others. It is not the right definition for hasad is to expect the loss of Allah's blessings from others, even merely to feel displeased with the favors that Allah has given to others is already counted with good intentions accompanied by hopes that the favors disappear or just don't feel like it.

Thus the results of the study conducted by Syaikul Islam Ibnu Taimiyyah. He asserted that the definition of hasad is to feel displeased with the favors that Allah gives to others.

Hasad has many dangers including:

Does not like what God predestines. Feeling displeased with the blessings that Allah has given to others in essence is to dislike what God has predestined and oppose God's destiny.

Hasad will devour someone's kindness as fire devours dry firewood because usually the person who hasad will violate the rights of people he dislikes by mentioning his ugliness, trying to make others hate him, demean his dignity, etc. These are all big sins that can be devoured

a variety of goodness that exists. The misery that is in the hearts of people who are envious. Every time he witnessed the additional pleasure obtained by others, his chest felt tight and distressed. He will always watch over people he does not like and whenever God gives abundant blessings to others, he will grieve and be troubled.

Has the nature of envy is like the character of the Jews. Because anyone who has the characteristics of an infidel then he is part of them in these characteristics. The Prophet said, "Whoever resembles a group of people is part of them." (Reported by Ahmad and Abu Daud, saheeh)

No matter how large a person's level of desire, it is impossible for him to eliminate the favor that Allah has given. If it has been realized that it is impossible why there is still hasad in the heart.

Hasad contrasts with perfect faith. The Prophet said, "You will not believe until you want for your brother the things he wants for himself." (Reported by Bukhari and Muslim). The above hadith demand is to feel displeased with the loss of Allah's blessings on fellow Muslims. If you do not feel troubled by the loss of God's favor from someone, then you do not want for your brother as you want for yourself and this is contrary to perfect faith.

Hasad is the reason for leaving praying for God's grace. The person who has envy always thinks of the blessings that are in others so that they never pray for God's grace when Allah ta'ala says,

"And do not be jealous of what God has given to you more than any other part. (for) for men there is part of what they are trying to do, and for women (even) there is a part of what they are trying to do, and ask God for some of His gifts. Surely Allah knows everything. " (Surah an Nisa: 32)
