Adam Clarke's Full Commentary on the Bible
Adam Clarke (1762 - 1832) was a Methodist theologian and Biblical scholar from Britain. His main accomplishment was this commentary on the Bible which took him 40 years to finish. The commentary became the foremost resource of authority for theological work by the Methodist church.
When it was finished it spanned 6 volumes, with each volume being about 1,000 pages each. For its time it was thought to be the most comprehensive commentary on the Bible ever prepared by one person. Clarke depended on the teachings of Methodist founder John Wesley. Clarke taught that the Bible alone gives a full understanding of the will of God.
