CLOCK: Check the time and freeze it. The clock shows the time when you opened the app, and won't change until the next time you open it.

ALARM: Set an alarm then check back later to see if it's gone off. The alarm will not sound until the next time you open the app after the alarm time.

STOPWATCH: Start a stopwatch then get on with your life. The count won't go up while you're looking at it. Check back later to see how long it's been since you started timing.

TIMER: Need to cook something for 10 minutes? Set a timer then check back later to see if the timer has finished. Too early? No problem. The timer alert won't sound until you open the app after the desired time has passed.
