This is a commentary on the psalms from primitive and mediæval writers in four volumes (here collected into a single ebook). Various office books and hymns of the Roman, Mozarabic, Ambrosian, Gallican, Greek, Coptic, Armenian, and Syriac rites are used to elucidate the texts. Also the father's of the church are cited, such as Ven. Bede, St. Thomas Aquinas and Eusebius of Caesarea.
The author is Rev. J. M. Neale, D.D., formerly the warden of Sackville College.
