A group of enthusiastic medical staff, social workers, and pastors initiated the establishment of the "Queen Elizabeth Nephrology Mutual Aid Group" in 1993, and was formally registered as the "Queen Elizabeth Hospital Nephrology Mutual Aid Association" in 1994.
九十年代，針對腎病病友的復康及心理支援服務較為匱乏，有見及此，一群熱心的醫護人員、社工及院牧於 1993 年發起成立「伊利沙伯腎科互助小組」，並於 1994 年正式註冊成為「伊利沙伯醫院腎友互助會」。
