On the first day of the first lunar month of the following year, he signaled to return south to Miaotong Temple. After arriving at Miaotong Temple, he chanted Buddha's name day and night. Sometimes he caught wooden fish with his own hands and asked his disciples to chant Buddha's name together. On the fifth day of the lunar month, the teacher's vision was clear, calm and peaceful, nothing unusual. At about two o'clock in the afternoon, he suddenly told everyone: "There is no coming, no going, no generation." He nodded and smiled at the disciples, sat down and closed his eyes. After a while, everyone saw that the teacher was not moving, and they came forward to take a closer look, and they knew that the teacher had already arrived. In the sound of reciting the Buddha's name, he passed away peacefully at the age of ninety-five.
