বিয়ে আল্লাহর বিশেষ নেয়ামত ও রাসুল (সা.) এর গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সুন্নত। চারিত্রিক অবক্ষয় রোধের অনুপম হাতিয়ার। আদর্শ পরিবার গঠন, মানুষের জৈবিক চাহিদাপূরণ ও মানবিক প্রশান্তি লাভের প্রধান উপকরণ। বিয়ে ইসলামী শরিয়তের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটি বিধান।

পবিত্র কোরআনে আল্লাহ তাআলা ইরশাদ করেন, ‘আল্লাহর নিদর্শনসমূহের মধ্যে অন্যতম হলো— তিনি তোমাদের মধ্য থেকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন তোমাদের জীবনসঙ্গিনী, যাতে তোমরা তাদের নিকট প্রশান্তি লাভ করতে পারো এবং তিনি তোমাদের মধ্যে পারস্পরিক প্রেম-প্রীতি, ভালোবাসা ও দয়া সৃষ্টি করেছেন। ’ (সুরা রুম, আয়াত :২১)

ইসলামে, বিবাহ (আরবি: نِكَاح‎, প্রতিবর্ণী. নিকাহ‎) হল বিবাহযোগ্য দুইজন নারী ও পুরুষের মধ্যে দাম্পত্য সম্পর্ক প্রনয়নের বৈধ আইনি চুক্তি ও তার স্বীকারোক্তি।ইসলামে কনে তার নিজের ইচ্ছানুযায়ী বিয়েতে মত বা অমত দিতে পারে| একটি আনুষ্ঠানিক এবং দৃঢ় বৈবাহিক চুক্তিকে ইসলামে বিবাহ হিসেবে গণ্য করা হয়, যা বর ও কনের পারষ্পারিক অধিকার ও কর্তব্যের সীমারেখা নির্ধারণ করে| বিয়েতে অবশ্যই দুজন মুসলিম স্বাক্ষী উপস্থিত থাকতে হবে| ইসলামে বিয়ে হল একটি সুন্নাহ বা মুহাম্মাদ (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম)-এর আদর্শ এবং ইসলামে বিয়ে করার জন্য অত্যন্ত জোরালোভাবে পরামর্শ দেয়া হয়েছে।বিয়ে ইসলামী বিবাহের মৌলিক বিধিবিধান অনুযায়ী সম্পন্ন করতে হয়। পাশাপাশি, ইসলামে সন্ন্যাসজীবন এবং কৌমার্যেরও কঠোর বিরোধিতা করা হয়েছে। ইসলামে তালাক অপছন্দনীয় হলেও এর অনুমতি আছে এবং তা যে কোন পক্ষ হতে দেওয়া যেতে পারে অর্থাৎ ইসলামে স্বামী-স্ত্রী উভয়েই তালাক দেওয়ার অধিকার রাখে।

The Holy Quran says,

“And marry those among you who are single and those who are fit among your male slaves and your female slaves; if they are needy, Allah will make them free from want out of His grace; and Allah is Ample-giving, Knowing.” (Surah an-Nur, 24:32)

The above ayat begins with the words Wa Ankehoo (And marry…). The imperative form of the word ‘nikah’ implies that either it is obligatory or highly recommended.According to scholars, though marriage is a highly recommended act, it becomes obligatory when there is a chance of falling into sin.

The Prophet (S) says, “No house has been built in Islam more beloved in the sight of Allah than through marriage.”

On another occasion the Prophet (S) said,

“The best people of my nation (Ummat) are those who get married and have chosen their wives, and the worst people of my nation are those who have kept away from marriage and are passing their lives as bachelors.”

Imam ‘Ali (A.S.) exhorts, “Marry, because marriage is the tradition of the Prophet (S).” The Prophet (S) also said, “Whosoever likes to follow my tradition, then he should know that marriage is from my tradition.” 4
