The scholars have clarified that the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are better than the last ten days of Ramadan, and the nights of the last ten days of Ramadan are better than the ten nights of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah.

The last of those ten days is the first day of Eid al-Adha for Muslims, during which they perform the ritual of the sacrifice, and its legitimacy comes from the Qur’an in the verse (pray to your Lord and sacrifice) that is, perform the Eid prayer, and sacrifice your sacrifice on this day.
