Othman bin Muhammad bin Hamad bin Abdullah bin Saleh bin Muhammad al-Khamis al-Nasiri al-Tamimi, and in short, Othman al-Khamis, a jurist, modernizer and academic, traces his lineage to the Al-Nawasir tribe from the offspring of Al-Miswar bin Omar bin Abbad bin Al-Hussain Al-Tamimi, the last prince of the Bani Tamim tribe, a Kuwaiti Sunni religious scholar.

His scientific and practical career

He studied at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, holds a master's degree in hadith, with a thesis on hadiths about the two tribes (Al-Hassan and Al-Hussain). He holds a Ph.D. from King Saud University, with distinction, and his thesis was entitled Reviews, a recent critical study. He worked as an imam in the Al-Humaida Mosque from approximately 1993 to 2004, and before that he was the muezzin in the same mosque from 1989 to 1993.
