About Справочник сетевого инженера

Reference book for IT-specialists and beginners Network engineers.

This application contains basic information for beginning IT-specialists and engineers in the field of network technologies. The appendix covers several sections, namely:

- tools for installation;

- installation work;

- communication lines;

- network protocols;

- TCP and UDP ports;

- equipment configuration;

- network hardware;

- CCTV.

Installation tools

During installation, the network engineer uses a diverse set of tools and technical devices, namely: strippers, crimpers, cable laying device, cable tie mounting gun, detectors and testers, pyrometer, cable sealing tool, reflectometer, welding machine for optical fiber and etc.

Assembly work

This section discusses examples of working with wire trays, metal and plastic cable channels.

Lines of communication

This section considers several types of communication lines: copper, optical and wireless. For each type of communication lines have their own technological characteristics and features of the device.

Network protocols

Routing protocols: EGP, EIGRP, HSRP, IGRP, RIP, OSPF, BGP-4, NARP, NHRP, TRIP.

Protocols used in telephony: SIP, MGCP, SCCP, SIGTRAN, IAX2, Unistim, Jingle, Megaco / H.248, H.323, SCTP.

Protocols used in video surveillance: IPv4, IPv6, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, RTP, DynDNS, NTP, RTSP, RTCP, IGMP, ICMP, ARP, SOCKS, PPP, PPPoE, Bonjour, UPnP .

Distribution of protocols by OSI model levels:

7. Application layer (HTTP, SMTP, FTP, Telnet, SSH, SCP, SMB, NFS, RTSP, BGP);

6. Representations level (XDR, AFP, TLS, SSL);

5. Session layer (RPC, NetBIOS, PPTP, L2TP, AppleTalk);

4. Transport layer (TCP, UDP, SCTP, SPX, RTP, ATP, DCCP, GRE);

3. Network layer (IP, ICMP, IGMP, CLNP, OSPF, RIP, IPX, DDP);

2. The link layer (Ethernet, Token ring, HDLC, PPP, X.25, Frame relay, ISDN, ATM, MPLS, ARP, RARP);

1. Physical level (electrical wires, radio, fiber optic wires, Wi-Fi).

Protocol distribution by TCP / IP model levels:

4. Application layer (HTTP, RTP, FTP, DNS, BGP);

3. Transport layer (TCP, UDP, SCTP, DCCP, RIP, routing protocols like OSPF);

2. Network layer (IP, ICMP, IGMP);

1. Media access (Ethernet, IEEE 802.11, Wireless Ethernet, SLIP, Token Ring, ATM, MPLS, ARP, physical media and information encoding principles, T1, E1).

TCP and UDP ports

This section contains a list of port numbers used by the transport layer TCP / IP protocols to establish a connection between two hosts.

Hardware configuration

In order to correctly configure (configure) telecommunications equipment, it is necessary to skillfully operate a set of specialized commands. In this section, you will find brief information on commands based on the manufacturer of telecommunications equipment.

network hardware

To create and maintain the efficiency of a computer network, various network equipment is used, which is divided into two types: active and passive. In this section you will find a list of such equipment.

CCTV

Section "Video Surveillance" contains basic information about the device camcorder, image compression algorithms and types of cameras.
