Version of the Holy Scriptures, Eastern Translation

The Version of the Holy Scriptures, Eastern Translation, with the word "Allah", also known as VP-A or CARS-A, is a Russian translation of the Holy Scriptures, specially prepared in the 21st century for those representatives of the indigenous peoples of the Caucasus and Central Asia who best read in Russian. VP-A adheres to the principle that priority should be given to the terminology used by the target audience in their own spiritual tradition, and to avoid spiritual vocabulary that is foreign to them, so that the reader understands that the word of Allah is intended specifically for him.

VP-A~ is a semantic translation, the purpose of which is to accurately convey the meaning of the original in a natural style. To achieve this, a limited deviation from strict literalism is necessary. In those passages whose meaning is disputed by the best scholars, alternative or literal versions are given in footnotes.
