July 1918. Trying to escape from the "revolutionary frenzy" the young student of Kazan University returns to his native Sviyazhsk. On the streets of a small stuffy town, time flows in its own way, somewhere far away the power is replaced, in Chelyabinsk the soldiers of the Czechoslovak corps rebelled, thereby giving impetus to the start of the Civil War, but here it is just conversations over a cup of tea. No one yet knows that soon the army of KOMUCH, led by Vladimir Kappel, will take Kazan, and Comrade Trotsky is rushing to the aid of the defeated Red Army to the outpost built by Tsar Ivan. No one can stand aside in this
