A differential equation is an equation in which derived functions enter, and the function itself, an independent variable, and parameters can enter. The order of derivatives in the equation can be different (formally it is not limited by anything). Derivatives, functions, independent variables and parameters may enter the equation in various combinations or may be absent altogether, except at least one derivative. Not every equation containing derivatives of an unknown function is a differential equation.
