There are 11 verses in this ‘madani’ Surah. It is narrated that Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) said that it is required of our followers that they recite, in their prayers on Thursday nights, Surah al-Jumu’ah and Surah al-A’ala, and on Fridays, at the time of noon prayers, Surah al-Jumu’ah and Surah al-Munafiqun. Whoever does this, it will be like he has obeyed the command of the Holy Prophet (Sal Allaho Alehi Wasallam), and his reward will be Jannah.

The Holy Prophet (Sal Allaho Alehi Wasallam) said that by the recitation of this Surah, a person stays free from Shirk and hypocrisy. Recitation of this Surah over a wound will heal it and over any ache will cure the ache. In fact, it is a cure for all diseases and ailments.
