Tour the archaeological site of Aptera in a unique way!

Visit the archaeological site of Aptera and with the Augmented Reality (AR) Tour Application see one of the most important ancient city-states of Crete come to life in front of you!

With the application, the user can explore the ancient Aptera while walking and viewing the monuments located on the axis of the tour route of the archaeological site. Approaching a point of interest, the user is asked to point their mobile device towards the corresponding information sign to display the 3D representation of the selected monument in real dimensions. Indicative of the exciting experience is that the user can tour the interior of selected monuments such as the ancient theater or the Roman house, listen to additional information about them in four languages (Greek, English, German and French) as well as take a photo in front of them from the digitally "restored" monuments.
