The magazine who creates or will create fish, shrimp, shellfish and other aquatic.
The Panorama da AQUICULTURA Magazine, created in 1989, is dedicated to disseminating, through articles written by the best specialists, the results of research, technologies, management, editorial releases, trends, market analysis and public policies of interest to aquaculture farmers. This information guides new investors and helps producers make day-to-day decisions, contributing to the professionalization of the entire aquaculture chain. Its subscribers are fish, shrimp, mollusc, algae and frog breeders, investors who intend to start businesses, as well as students, professors and researchers who are dedicated to teaching and training professionals in the art of creating aquatic organisms.
Fish farming - raising marine or freshwater fish - is addressed at all stages of production: artificial reproduction, larviculture, hatchery, nursery for the production of juveniles, fattening and finishing. On the other hand, tilapia farming - tilapia farming -, as it is the most farmed fish in Brazil, is addressed both in net-tanks and in ponds excavated in the earth.
Tambaqui, pacu and pirapitinga, as well as their hybrids – tambacu, tambatinga and patinga, as they make up the second group of fish (the round ones) most created by Brazilian fish farmers, are also on the magazine’s agenda, as are the painted, surubim, cachara, piauçu, pirarucu, trout and lambari, species used zootechnically by the aquaculture sector. Fattening involves stocking, water quality control, fish biometrics, feeding and harvesting, an operation where animals are removed from cages or tanks and taken to processing (evisceration, filleting, freezing). Nutrition is another topic that is frequently discussed, and it involves the formulation of feed – extruded or pelleted, as well as the equipment needed for manufacturing. Aquaculture health is also a topic addressed, with studies of pathologies resulting from bacteria, parasites and viruses. Sanitary management is always approached with the aim of reducing the use of drugs, especially antibiotics, encouraging the use of probiotics and prebiotics.
Shrimp farming – shrimp farming – is another very present sector of Brazilian aquaculture. The production of Litopenaeus vannamei post-larvae, the use of nurseries, intensive grow-out in a nursery, intensive grow-out in a biofloc system (BFT), shrimp feed at all stages, care with organic matter at the bottom of the nursery, aeration, harvesting, processing and the market, are topics that the magazine's subscriber will find in the more than 150 editions already published.
Malacoculture is the cultivation of molluscs. Mussel farming (myticulture), oyster farming (oyster farming), scallop farming (pectin farming), are activities that register a very fast growth in Brazil. This topic is often addressed, taking into account the acquisition of seed, the development of management in the cultivation lanterns and the management of mussel strings.
The rearing of marine fish, such as cobia and grouper, on the Brazilian coast has not yet established itself as a commercial activity. In order to stimulate marine fish farming, Panorama da AQUICULTURA constantly publishes articles that bring news in the technology of cultivation of these species. Also noteworthy in the magazine's pages is the cultivation of algae for the production of carregenas and agar-agar. Frog farming and freshwater shrimp farming with Macrobrachium rosenbergii are also frequently discussed topics.
The Panorama of AQUACULTURE also shows what happens in the input industries, such as feed, nets, kits and equipment for controlling the quality of water, vaccines and pharmaceuticals. By bringing for almost 31 years the opinion and knowledge of the main specialists in the cultivation of aquatic organisms, Panorama da AQÜICULTURA does not lose focus, helping to increase Brazilian productivity, producer profits and the professionalization of the sector.
