About Privacy Guard

Privacy Guard alerts you if an app is watching you without your permission.

Did you know that if you give third-party apps access to your phone's camera or microphone or location, they may use it secretly in the background?

iOS 14 Introduces Camera, Location and Microphone Recording Indicators: With iOS 14, Apple adds a camera, location and microphone recording indicator to the status bar. Above the signal bar, it will show as an orange dot. The purpose of a recording indication is to notify users when the microphone or camera is being utilized. Users will have more control over their data and privacy as a result of this functionality.

However, such a privacy option does not exist in Android. Any app, it appears, may utilize your camera, location and microphone without any particular authorization (once you have granted the permission). This might allow Malware to operate a service in the background and visually track everything you do, posing a risk to your privacy. With the increased use of Online Platforms for Audio and Video Conferences, it's critical to keep track of which app is accessing your Camera or Microphone or Location in real-time.

Features of Privacy Guard :

* Get notified whenever a third-party app accesses your Camera.

* Get notified whenever a third-party app accesses your Location.

* Get notified whenever an app accesses your microphone.

* You may change the indicator's color, size, opacity, and location.

* When indications display, there is an option to enable haptic feedback.

* You can disable any specific functionality if necessary.

* View a log of all the indicators that have been triggered in one place.

Furthermore, the Privacy Guard app does not collect any personal information or any other type of information and will never do so (focus on user privacy just like iOS14 does). More information may be found in the Privacy Policy.

Enabling the Privacy Guard Accessibility Service (Toggle switch in the App > (More) Downloaded Services/Installed Services > Privacy Guard > Enable) is all that is required to configure the App. The app does not require a camera, or microphone.

Why does the Privacy Guard app require accessibility service?

Accessibility service is necessary on Android in order to show an overlay (the alerts). While it may appear that we have access to your screen or may watch your behavior, rest assured that we only utilize it to identify and display notifications.

Digital Wellbeing (Screen Time)

View your digital behaviors on a daily basis:

• The frequency with which you utilize certain applications.

• How frequently do you check your phone or unlock it?

Do you collect my personal data?

Nope! I never gather any of your data or information about how you interact with other applications. Except for accessibility services, I do not ask for any consent.

Note:

Please make sure the App is whitelisted under any kind of optimization setting your device has, if the App is killed from the background by the System, you may have to restart the phone to get the Privacy Guard active again..!
