Starting from the need to publish the official acts of state government in its own newspaper, the official press is finally created in 1895. The 8th Brazilian province to have a printed newspaper, it was the 9th state to have the Official Gazette, proposing in his first exemplary be a manifestation "free of particular interests in the service of the state and for the good of the people."

Law No. 104 of December 5, 1894, signed by President of Sergipe of the time, Manoel de Oliveira Prisciliano Valadão, authorizes the establishment of the Official Press of the State of Sergipe. Sanctioned the law on August 24, 1895, enters into circulation the first number of the Official Gazette of the State of Sergipe, on September 1 of that year.
