About Kitab Al-Awail As-Sunbuliyyah

About the Book of Al-Awail As-Sunbuliyyah By Sheikh Abu al-Khayr Muhammad Sa'id

This Android application is an explanation of the Book of Al-Awail As-Sunbuliyyah by Sheikh Abu al-Khayr Muhammad Sa'id Ibn Muhammad Sunbul al-Qurasyi al-Makki al-Syafi'i. In Pdf format.

Students: Among his famous students were:

- His own son, Muhammad Thahir Sunbul (m.1218H),

- Muhammad Sa'id Safar al-Madani (m.1194H),

- Sheikh Isma'il bin 'Abdullah al-Naqshbandi (m.1182H),

- Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Kurdi al-Madani (m.1192H),

- Mustafa bin Muhammad al-Rahmati (m.1205H),

- Muhammad al-Murtadha al-Zabidi, lecturer of Ihya' 'Ulumiddin (m.1205H) and others.

Background: The Book of al-Awa'il al-Sunbuliyyah is a small book that collects the first hadiths contained in 43 hadith books, which were narrated by Sheikh Muhammad Sa'id in sequence to the compilers of the book in question. These include al-Kutub al-Sittah, Sunan al-Darimi, Muwatta' Malik, Musnad Imam Abu Hanifah, Musnad Imam al-Shafi'i, Musnad Imam Ahmad, Sunan al-Daraqutni, Sunan Sa'id bin Mansur, Musannaf Ibnu Abi Syaibah, Syarh al-Sunnah by al-Baghawi, Musnad al-Tayalisi and others.

The purpose of an al-Awa'il book like this being compiled is to make it easier for its compilers to translate the hadith books narrated to their students or anyone who wants to ask for a diploma from it and is worthy of it. So whoever narrates the book al-Awa'il means that the sanad is directly connected to the compilers of the hadith book, then it is connected to the Prophet Muhammad. Sheikh Muhammad Sa'id has narrated all these books from his teachers, whose names are as follows:

Sheikh Abu Tahir Muhammad bin Ibrahim al-Kurani (also teacher of Shah Waliyullah al-Dihlawi), Sheikh 'Id ibn 'Ali al-Azhari (student of Sheikh 'Abdullah bin Salim al-Basri), Sheikh Ahmad al-Nakhli al-Makki and Sheikh 'Umar ibn Ahmad ibn 'Aqil al-Saqqaf. He also added at the end several hadiths from several other hadith books which numbered almost 30. The book al-Awa'il al-Sunbuliyyah has been widely used in the Hijjaz region and also the Indian subcontinent since the 12th Hijrah. (Muhammad 'Abd al-Hay ibn 'Abd al-Kabir al-Kattani, ibid., j. 1, p. 100-101).
