Explore the Earth in Virtual Reality

We use our patent pending technology to generate stereoscopic satellite imagery and line map which can cover the entire globe. Our current data set coverage can be seen in the last screenshot. More country coverage will be available in the future. We are a small team as of now and it takes time to process data.

With our innovative technology, not only satellite imagery, but also common map information are in 3D. Unlike traditional perspective 3D technology, everything you see in our EarthView3D viewer is just like the real thing!

Stereoscopic 3D maps provide a more intuitive user experience than 2D or perspective 3D maps. Potential applications include but not limited to: battlefield tactical assessment, border patrol, disaster relief assistance, flight simulation, road trip planning, natural wonder exploration, geography education, or simply exploring the beauty of the earth in 3D.

PHONE REQUIREMENTS

In order to get the best possible experience with this app, your phone should meet the following requirements:

- Your phone is 3 years old or newer

- Android 5.0 or newer

- FullHD screen (1920x1080) on a 5 inch phone or up (at least 400ppi)

- Dual-core processor or better

- 2 GB RAM or more

- at least 400 MB of free space

- Google Cardboard

Although you might be able to run our app on a phone that does not meet all requirements, your experience might be affected in terms of performance, stability, or legibility. Please let us know if you were able to successfully use your phone with non-minimum specs.

This app has been tested on a Samsung Galaxy Nexus (2011) phone which has a dual-core CPU with a 1280x720 resolution and was running Android 4.4.4, but we were only able to get about 26fps. For a fluent experience make sure that you get at least 30fps. In the bottom-left of the HUD you will see a FPS counter, make sure that this number is always greater than 30fps, ideally always close to 60fps.
