The Berkeley Observer covers local news happening in and around Berkeley County.

The U.S. Census Bureau already ranks Berkeley Co. as the 35th fastest growing county in the country. In South Carolina, it is not only considered the biggest county but also the fastest growing.

With that in mind, The Berkeley Observer launched in January 2014 in order to cover news regularly impacting the state’s largest coastal area. We are the first news outlet based strictly online dedicated to covering the county to the fullest extent. We strive to be a voice for all municipalities and communities–Moncks Corner, Hanahan, Goose Creek, Daniel Island, St. Stephen, Jamestown, Cross, Bonneau, Huger, Cordesville, Lebanon, Alvin, etc.

Our neighboring counties, specifically Charleston, have several forms of media covering the news of the day, so it only makes sense that the largest county in the state should receive the same attention. That’s where we come in!
