ANTIL was not born along with the birth of Timor Leste State, which this year turns to 41 years old. But the country history of the struggle for independence of the nation is also noted that long before ANTIL born we also recalled that there is ETNA, East Timor News Agency was existing first.

The efforts to set up a state news agency of Timor Leste was ever done before ANTIL born and exist, but the opportunity and momentum has not allowed us existed as an official news agency. And today is really the history of the nation and the country and its people whose made the history that a state-owned news agency of Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste have been born and exist as part of the national entity and the identity of the Timor Leste nation.
