UB40 is a reggae group formed in 1978 in Birmingham. His name is taken from a form for his tribe, Unemployment Benefit, Form 40. Formed by "Ali Campbell" and "Brian Travers" who travels around Birmingham while sticking UB40 posters everywhere.

UB40 became famous when "Chrissie Hynde" invited them as the opening band "The Pretenders". The first single UB40, "King" / "Food For Thought" was published by "Graham Records", an independent label owned by David Virr. The single reached # 4 on the UK Singles Chart.

Their first album was called "Signing Off", because they no longer received the money. The album reached # 4 on the UK album charts and lasted 72 weeks there.

UB40 just achieved success in the US after the album "Labor of Love", a collection of cover songs, in 1983. The album reached # 1 in the UK and # 8 on the Billboard Top 200. The hit of the album is "Red Red Wine", cover of the song "Neil Diamond".

Their best-selling single is cover of the song "Elvis Presley" (I Can not Help) Falling In Love With You "which is incorporated into the soundtrack of" Sliver movie "and reaches # 1 in Europe and US.
