The band's 2001 introduction collection Gorillaz sold more than seven million duplicates and earned them a passage in the Guinness Book of World Records as the Most Successful Virtual Band. It was assigned for the Mercury Prize in 2001, yet the selection was later pulled back at the band's request. Their second studio collection Demon Days (2005) went five times platinum in the UK and twofold platinum in the US. The band has won different honors, including one Grammy Award, two MTV Video Music Awards, a NME Award, three MTV Europe Music Awards, and have been designated for nine Brit Awards. The band's third studio collection, Plastic Beach, was discharged in March 2010. Their fourth studio collection called The Fall was discharged in December 2010 as a free download for fan club individuals, at that point in April 2011 as a physical discharge. Following a six-year rest, Gorillaz reported their fifth studio collection Humanz, which was discharged on 28 April 2017
