Asset Management Application for Technoserve Tanzania

This app streamlines asset verification process. For an organization or company with numerous assets, tagging and storing them in a database is one step among many. The challenge is keeping track of whether what is stored in the database is in consonance with what is actually on the ground. Verification is always done through what is called Asset Auditing. Empirical evidence testifies that companies audit assets by use of special barcode scanners, tools which are very expensive and whose purchase—especially given the number required--pose a significant financial hurdle. This app is meant to replace this costly way by introducing mobile phone barcode scanners. What one requires is a smartphone that can use its camera to scan barcodes and do the rest as any other barcode reader. We are confident this approach is financially friendly, manageable and requires less training about use than other methods.
