Every human being must have felt homesick. This feeling arises when we are in a position far from loved ones. Whether it's wife, husband, parents, siblings, friends, or lovers. As for those who believe, the greatest longing will certainly be present to meet Allah Ta'ala and His Majesty the Prophet Muhammad. Longing in Islam is something that is natural. It is not sinful if someone feels homesick. But longing must also be addressed in the right ways.

For example, when a woman misses a man who is not her partner. Maybe the man is a close friend. Then what should the woman do? Should they vent their longing feelings into the practice of dating? Of course not! Courtship in Islam is clearly haraam because dating is close to adultery. The prohibition of dating in Islam is explained in the word of Allah SWT:

"Say to the believing men:" Let them hold their sight, and care for their genitals; this is more sacred to them, surely Allah is well aware of what they do. " (QS An Nur: 30)

"And do not approach adultery; (adultery) is really a heinous act and a bad way. "(QS AL Isra’: 32)

Besides praying, there are some other tips that can be done to overcome homesickness. Among them are:

Busy yourself with positive things. Such as studying, working, understanding the religious sciences, memorizing the Koran or joining recitation gatherings.

Married When you feel ready mentally, physically or materially, you should not hold back longing too long. Dare yourself to take the road of marriage. Because that is better by Allah SWT than we cultivate sin through the way of courtship.

If you miss your parents, then go to your parents. For those of you who wander, make time once a day to call him. Pray for parents every day so that they are given health so that you can gather together.
